Police organise cultural-cum-drug awareness prog in Pulwama

PULWAMA: Continuing its relentless efforts to engage youth and spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, Police in Pulwama organised a Cultural-cum-Drug Awareness Programme at Government Degree College (Women), Pulwama.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of SSP Pulwama Ms. PD Nitya (IPS) as the Chief Guest and Principal of GDC (Women) Pulwama as the Guest of Honour. All Gazetted Officers of District Police Pulwama were also present on the occasion.
Students from GDC Women’s Pulwama, Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Pulwama, Lyceum School Pulwama, and Dolphin International School actively participated in the event. The programme featured debate competitions, skits, songs, and cultural performances, all centred around the theme of drug awareness and prevention.
The performances by the students captivated the audience and conveyed strong social messages through creative expression. A special highlight was the Police Band Performance, which added energy and vibrancy to the event.
SSP Pulwama, in her concluding address, spoke about the growing menace of drug abuse and the critical role that youth and educational institutions can play in combating it. She emphasized the importance of collective action, awareness, and community participation in the fight against narcotics.
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony wherein participants were honoured by SSP Pulwama for their commendable contributions.
