A paramilitary SSB man died while as another was injured in a firing incident that police said they are investigating at Banihal area of Ramban district this evening.
SSP Ramban Mohan Singh said that two SSB men were out for patrolling at Banihal and during their duty they sustained bullet injuries. He said one of the injured SSB man Head Constable Ram Pravesh died and another was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The SSP said whether it was a militant attack, is being confirmed.
“We are investigating the incident. We are in the process of investigating and when we get the details we can then say whether it is a militant attack or something else,” the SSP said.
