Hajin’s Kundji Mohalla residents demand permanent solution to years-long water shortage

Must read

HAJIN: Residents of Kundji Mohalla in Vijpara village of Hajin town are demanding a permanent solution to their ongoing water shortage, a crisis they have endured for several years.
The aggrieved residents have voiced their concerns, stating that they have been grappling with water shortages for the past five years. Despite multiple attempts to address the issue with relevant officials, there has been no tangible improvement on the ground.
Tanveer Ahmad, a local resident, urged the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department to take immediate action to ensure a proper water supply to their area. He said that two years ago, construction work on a water supply scheme began, but the project has progressed at a snail’s pace.
“We request the administration to complete this project, which will provide much-needed relief to the residents in the area,” he added.
The residents have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora to personally intervene in the matter. They also warned that they would start an agitation if their demands are not met.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Jal Shakti Department said he would look into the matter.
