PAMPORE: 110 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a free medical camp at Rakh Shalina Taingan on NH 44 in the Kadlabal Pampore area where people gathered in large numbers to get their health issues addressed.
The 110 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) with the assistance of the AYUSH department Pulwama and specialists from SDH Pampore and SKIMS organised a free medical health check-up camp and distributed free medicines under the Civic Action Programme for Rakh Shalina, Shalina, Kandizal, Pohru, Kadlabal and other nearby areas of Pampore.
The free camp was inaugurated by an elderly lady of the village Rakh Shalina in the presence of Yogesh Purohit, Commandant 110 Battalion, and other officers of the unit including Sudhir 2iC, Deputy Commandant Suresh Kumar Yadav, Shishpal and Assistant Commandant Kashif.
Nearly 410 patients including women along with their children were examined in the camp and were provided free medicines.
A specialist for consultation and treatment regarding skin ailments from SKIMS was part of the camp. A dentist for the oral health check-up and counseling was also available from SDH Pampore, CRPF officials told Kashmir Reader.
“CRPF runs various schemes for assisting the needy and merging with the local population and for having better coordination with them and 110 Battalion CRPF is continuously organising awareness, community outreach, skill development and free medical camps for the benefit of the local population. Today, we organised a free medical camp and consultancy for those who require medical assistance and special counseling and treatment for skin and dental related issues and you see a large number of people turned up in the programme,” Yogesh Purohit told Kashmir Reader, adding that aim of such programmes is to have good relation with locals and also help them in difficult times.
Three lady doctors and four male doctors were present to address the health issues of the locals, Purohit said, adding that it is a continuous process and 110 Bn is periodically conducting community outreach programme in one or the other way.
In the past also, such free medical camps were organised where free medicines, sanitizers and masks, etc were distributed among locals. Such camps and community outreach programs will continue in the future also, he said.
Local people of these areas showed great enthusiasm and appreciated the efforts and role of Commandant 110 battalion of CRPF and his team for creating a friendly environment in the area and developing good coordination among forces and the local public through their outreach programs and by organising such medical camps. They showed their happiness in the way 110 Battalion is assisting the locals and their positive approach to helping the surrounding localities and demanded such programs frequently.
