HAJIN: A 43-year-old man died after he slipped into an irrigation canal in the Gundjahingir Sonawari area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday.
An official said that Farooq Ahmad Paier, son of Abdus Samad Paier, a resident of Kralpora, Kupwara slipped into an irrigation canal while crossing it.
He said the body was retrieved by locals and shifted to CHC Hajin. After completing all legal formalities, the body was handed over to his family for last rites.
The official said that an investigation in this regard has been started.
