Kashmir Reader expresses condolence

Srinagar: Alhaj Nazir Ahmad Zargar, father of API News Editor-in-Chief Basharat Nazir Zargar and Managing Director Ishrat Nazir Zargar, passed away on Monday morning following a prolonged illness. He was 72.
Family sources informed that Zargar had been unwell for a considerable period and breathed his last at AIIMS, New Delhi.
The deceased, a resident of Gulab Bagh, Srinagar, was known for his sustained association with social activism and was widely regarded as a respected figure in the district. Over the years, he remained actively involved in welfare-oriented initiatives and was known among noted social activists and acquaintances for his outreach and public engagement.
Funeral prayers were held at his ancestral jinaza gah in Gulab Bagh, Srinagar.
Condolences have poured in from different quarters, with people expressing grief over the demise and extending sympathies to the bereaved family.
The daily Kashmir Reader also expressed grief over the demise. The newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, Haji Hayat Mohammad Bhat, expressed condolence with the bereaved family members, especially the deceased’s sons, and prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous for the departed soul.
