Nisar Dildar’s book ‘Qulzum-e-Faizan’ released at event

SRINAGAR: A grand literary and commemorative function was organised at Charar-e-Sharief by Kashmir Markaz-e-Adab wa Saqafat in collaboration with Cardiff School Charar-e-Sharief, to honour the memory and literary legacy of the renowned Kashmiri poet, writer, educationist, and social thinker Late Ali Mohammad Shahbaz.
The well-attended event brought together eminent literary personalities, academicians, poets, students, and admirers of Shahbaz, who fondly remembered his remarkable contribution to Kashmiri language, literature, education, and society. The speakers described Ali Mohammad Shahbaz as a visionary whose writings continue to inspire generations and whose lifelong commitment to education and cultural enrichment remains a guiding force for the literary fraternity.
The programme was Presided by special secretary Information technology Department Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Abdul Hafeez Masoodi, Dr. G. N War attended as chief guest, Ghulam Hassan Gamgeen attended as Guest of Honour. Prsidium was also shared by Nissar Ahmad Dildar, Dr. Owais Ahmad Mattoo and Nazir Qureshi.The proceedings were ably conducted by noted poet and writer Inayat Gul, who anchored the programme with eloquence and warmth. In his welcome address, Nazir Qureshi the son of Shahbaz, extended a cordial welcome to the distinguished guests, literary personalities, and participants. He highlighted the importance of remembering literary icons like Ali Mohammad Shahbaz, whose contributions have enriched the cultural and intellectual heritage of Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ab. Hafeez Masoodi paid glowing tributes to the late poet, describing him as an outstanding literary figure whose works reflected human values, social consciousness, and deep love for Kashmiri culture. Other speakers also highlighted Shahbaz’s immense contribution as a poet, writer, teacher, and mentor, stating that his literary legacy will continue to illuminate the path for future generations.
A major attraction of the event was the release of Nisar Dildar’s latest book, “Qulzum-e-Faizan” by the distinguished members of the presidium. The book release was warmly received by the audience and marked another significant literary moment during the programme. The commemorative function also featured a vibrant poetry session dedicated to the memory of Ali Mohammad Shahbaz. Tribute was paid by some Prominent poets and other participants including Idrees Badrani, Nazir Saliq, Aasim Asadi, Nazir Qureshi, Ali Ahsan, Sonaulla Mashgool, Farooq Fida, Ghulam Nabi Adfar, Nazim Nazir, sabreena khurshid, Saima Ashraf and Inayat Gul, presented their poetic tributes, reciting verses that celebrated the life, literary achievements, and enduring influence of the late poet. Their heartfelt recitations were appreciated by the audience and added emotional depth to the event.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Director Cardiff School Charar-e-Sharief Dr. Owais Ahmad Matto, who expressed gratitude to the guests, participants, organisers, Cardif School management, media representatives, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the memorial function. He reiterated the commitment of Kashmir Markaz-e-Adab wa Saqafat to continue organising such literary programmes to preserve and promote the rich literary heritage of Kashmir and to honour the contributions of its distinguished literary personalities.
