New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday attached two properties of a key accused in a Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case linked with terrorist organisations Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), officials said.
The accused, Shaheen Ahmad Lone, was found to be involved in the smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives from Pakistan through the Line of Control (LoC), they added.
The weapons and explosives were allegedly further supplied to terrorists of Pakistan-based banned HM and LeT terrorist outfits for unleashing terror activities in the Kashmir valley.
The investigation by NIA had also found out that Lone, against whom a trial in the case is underway in a Jammu court, was actively involved in receiving and transferring funds to the terrorists, a statement issued by the anti-terror agency said.
The NIA had arrested Lone in September 2020 and filed a chargesheet against him in March 2021.
The two properties attached on Wednesday are located in Kanispora village of the Baramulla district, it said.
They include a residential house built on land measuring 7.5 marlas (2,050 square feet) and a piece of land measuring 6 marlas (1,632 square feet), on which a shed had been constructed, the statement said.
