SRINAGAR: To mark World Environment Day, Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector banks in India, organized a tree plantation drive in Srinagar across key educational institutions including Dental College Srinagar, and Government Higher Secondary School, Khanmoh.
More than 150 volunteers, comprising the Bank’s employees and students from the three institutions, participated in the initiative and planted 200 saplings. Volunteers also engaged with local communities to promote awareness on environmental sustainability. Akshay Labroo (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar; Fayaz Ahmad, Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, and Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kour Bali, Principal, Government Dental College, Srinagar, graced the occasion with their presence.
This campaign is part of Axis Bank’s flagship platform, ‘Open for the Planet’, which focuses on driving meaningful environmental action through community engagement, awareness, and on-ground initiatives. Through this platform, the Bank aims to foster a sense of collective responsibility by encouraging individuals, institutions, and communities to contribute towards environmental conservation.
