Srinagar: On the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, India reaffirmed its firm stance against terrorism and showcased its military strength.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the operation reflected India’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security. Speaking in New Delhi, Modi highlighted the courage and precision of the Indian armed forces during the offensive carried out from May 7-10, 2025, targeting militant infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-held Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah called Operation Sindoor an “epochal mission,” symbolizing India’s lethal striking power and meticulous intelligence efforts. He saluted the valour of the armed forces and stressed that enemies cannot escape India’s reach, no matter where they hide.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed the operation as a benchmark in modern warfare, noting its precision and tri-services synergy. He stated that the mission demonstrated India’s resolve and readiness to confront security challenges and advance towards self-reliance in defense capabilities.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the armed forces, describing Operation Sindoor as a declaration of India’s resolve to protect its sovereignty and dismantle militant networks. He praised the bravery of the men and women in uniform who responded decisively to the attack in Pahalgam, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to a terror-free J&K.
