Locals Laud Hajin Police for Swift Rescue Operation

Hajin: Residents of Hajin and adjoining areas on Friday expressed heartfelt gratitude to the SHO Hajin and other his staff, rescue teams and local volunteers for their relentless efforts during the rescue operation in which the bodies of three persons were retrieved from the river Jehlum after strenuous searches.
Locals particularly appreciated the role of SHO Hajin, Inspector Mir Saleem, for remaining at the forefront throughout the operation and ensuring that law and order was maintained at the site. Eyewitnesses said the SHO kept mourners and onlookers calm on the banks, preventing any untoward incident and allowing rescuers to carry out the operation without disturbance.
“It was because of the efforts of the local police,staff from Bandipora especially led by SHO Hajin Mir Saleem, that people remained calm and the rescue teams could continue the searches smoothly,” said Abdul Rashid, a local resident. He added that the SHO remained continuously present at the spot till all the bodies were recovered and also guided locals during the rescue operation.
Meanwhile, senior Apni Party leader Imtiyaz Parray, while speaking to media persons, praised the efforts of SSP Bandipora Aijaz Ahmad, SHO Hajin Inspector Mir Saleem, Army personnel and local volunteers who participated in the operation.
“No amount of praise is enough for the SSP Bandipora, SHO Hajin, the Army and particularly the brave local volunteers who assisted in the operation,” Parray said. He termed the role of the local police in maintaining order and coordinating the operation as “highly commendable,” adding that their efforts helped rescuers retrieve the bodies successfully.
Locals also expressed gratitude to SSP Bandipora Aijaz Ahmad for personally visiting the site and closely monitoring the rescue operation till its culmination.
