JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said Aam Aadmi Party legislator Mehraj Malik should never have been detained under the Public Safety Act and termed the move a gross misuse of the law.

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Monday quashed the Public Safety Act (PSA) against AAP legislator Mehraj Malik, a party spokesperson said.

Reacting to the court order quashing Malik’s detention, Abdullah took to X, saying that the legislator should not have been detained at all.
