AWANTIPORA: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), under its University Outreach Programme, organised an Oral Hygiene Awareness Programme at Aripal, Tral. The programme was conducted by Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology, IUST, in collaboration with NTPHC Aripal, to educate school students on the importance of oral hygiene and prevention of common dental issues.
The sessions included live demonstrations on proper tooth-brushing techniques, guidance on flossing, and awareness about the role of a balanced diet in maintaining oral health. Students were also sensitised to the importance of regular dental check-ups. Interactive discussions enabled students to clarify their doubts, and educational materials were distributed to reinforce key messages. The programme was coordinated by I/C Principal Ms. Mubashir Bashir.
The program was part of college’s community engagement programmes on health education, and the promotion of preventive healthcare practices in rural areas wherein a series of health camps, awareness drives, and skill-based initiatives for public welfare are being conducted.
