Set for Asian Championship
SRINAGAR: Disha Pandith, a Kashmiri Pandith and distinguished Sqay athlete, was on Sunday honored by the Kashmiri Sewak Samaj with the Ma Sharika Sammaan Award 2026 for her outstanding performance on the international arena in Sqay, an ancient martial art of Kashmir.
Disha Pandith has achieved international recognition in the field of sports, particularly in Sqay Martial Art. She is also dedicated to the development of athletes within the Kashmiri Pandith community, organizing coaching camps and awareness programs to promote the sport.
She has been selected to represent India at the upcoming 6th Asian Sqay Championship, scheduled to be held in Kyrgyzstan. The Indian team and the Jammu & Kashmir Sqay Association have high expectations that she will once again bring medals for the country.
The President of the Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association congratulated Disha Pandith on her achievements and wished her success in her future endeavors.
