Must read

SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq on Wednesday visited the fire-affected area of Chandpora in Nowhatta, Srinagar, where a devastating midnight blaze damaged eight residential houses.
Expressing deep grief over the incident, Mirwaiz termed the loss suffered by the families as heartbreaking. He conveyed his solidarity with the affected households and prayed for strength and patience for them in this difficult time.
He directed Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil to immediately assess the situation and extend all possible assistance to the victims. He also urged other charitable organisations and well-off members of society to come forward and support the affected families in rebuilding their homes and lives.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz in a post of X said, “The poison of cow vigilantism is now spreading to Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death of young Tanveer Ahmad Chopan (25), a resident of Ramban district, brutally chased and assaulted while ferrying a milch cow and two calves on Sunday. This is highly condemnable and unacceptable and those behind this incident should be given exemplary punishment to nip this evil in the bud. Otherwise, it can have repercussions for which those in authority will be responsible.”
