RANCHI: The Indian Athletics Series-4 concluded at Birsa Munda Stadium here on Sunday. More than 200 athletes from across the country participated in the one-day national-level competition.
Organised by the Athletics Federation of India in association with the Jharkhand Athletics Association, the event brought together national and international-level athletes representing various states and institutional teams.
Competitions were held across senior men’s and women’s categories, as well as under-20 segments, covering a wide range of track and field disciplines. Sprint events such as 100m, 200m and 400m, middle- and long-distance races including 800m, 1500m and 5000m, and hurdles events featured prominently.
Field events, including long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw, were also conducted, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the meet.
According to the official results document, competitions were conducted across 38 events, overseen by more than 50 technical officials to ensure smooth execution of the programme.
Athletes from institutions such as Railways, Army and other national-level training centres participated, contributing to a competitive environment across categories. Several events witnessed closely contested finishes, indicating strong performance levels.
Officials said the competition served as an important platform for athletes to assess their form ahead of upcoming national and international competitions, including selection pathways for major events.
The organisers said the successful conduct of the event reinforces Ranchi’s growing stature as a venue for national athletics competitions and would help nurture emerging talent from Jharkhand and beyond.
