PULWAMA: Continuing its efforts towards public awareness and capacity building, Police in Pulwama organised an awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 at District Police Lines Pulwama.
The programme witnessed active participation of Investigating Officers (IOs), Asha Workers, and police officers. The session aimed at enhancing understanding of the legal provisions under the POCSO Act and strengthening the response mechanism in cases related to child protection. Chief LADC and Deputy Chief LADC, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama, attended the programme as resource persons. They delivered detailed lectures on various aspects of the POCSO Act, highlighting procedures for investigation, victim protection, and the importance of timely legal intervention.
The participants were sensitised about their roles and responsibilities in handling cases involving children with utmost care, ensuring justice and safeguarding the rights of victims.
J&K Police said it remains committed to spreading awareness and ensuring strict implementation of laws related to child safety and protection.
