AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora organised a two-day District-Level Conference for the implementation of recommendations of the DGsP/IGsP Conference 2025–26 at the Conference Hall of District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora.
The conference was inaugurated and presided over by the SSP Awantipora, who also delivered the valedictory address. In his address, he underscored the imperative of maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence, ensuring quality investigation and prosecution, and fostering enhanced public engagement in policing.
The programme comprised a series of structured thematic sessions conducted by senior officers. The deliberations covered a wide spectrum of critical policing domains. Detailed discussions were also held on emerging challenges such as cybercrime and its evolving modus operandi, advanced investigative techniques in cyber-related cases, cross-border terrorism, and issues relating to radicalisation, along with appropriate countermeasures.
Further, the conference deliberated upon key aspects of community engagement, crowd management during important events and festivals, and the role of police in disaster management. Emphasis was also laid on improving police station management, strengthening communication skills, and enhancing coordination with local stakeholders to effectively manage and defuse crisis situations.
The conference witnessed participation from Addl. SP Awantipora, Sr. Prosecuting Officer, SDPOs, DySP SOGs, SHOs, In-Charges of Police Posts, and officers from the Cyber Police Station, District Police Office Awantipora, District Technical Team Awantipora and other officers and Officials of PD Awantipora.
Police reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening professional standards, enhancing investigative capabilities, and promoting people-centric policing through such capacity-building initiatives.
