Expresses solidarity with Iranian children, condemns loss of civilian lives

SRINAGAR: The President of the Private Schools Association Jammu & Kashmir (PSAJK), Dr. Baba Nazrul Islam, has announced that all private schools across Jammu & Kashmir shall remain closed tomorrow as a mark of solidarity with the suffering children of Iran and to mourn the loss of innocent lives in the ongoing conflict, including the killing of Shaheed Ayatullah Khomeini.
Expressing deep anguish over the humanitarian crisis emerging from the conflict, Dr. Islam, in a statement issued here, stated that educational institutions cannot remain silent when children and civilians become victims of war. He emphasized that the school community stands united in condemning violence and the tragic loss of human lives.
“The education fraternity of Jammu & Kashmir shares the grief of families affected by war and violence. Schools symbolize peace, learning, and humanity, and therefore we express our solidarity with the suffering children and innocent civilians caught in the conflict,” he said.
The PSAJK strongly condemned the escalation of hostilities and the continued loss of civilian lives, urging all global stakeholders to prioritize dialogue and peace to prevent further humanitarian tragedy.
Dr. Islam also appealed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, to intervene diplomatically to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian students who remain in Iran and may be facing uncertainty amid the prevailing situation.
He further urged the Government of India to uphold its longstanding position advocating peace, restraint, and humanitarian protection, and to work through diplomatic channels to help halt further loss of life.
The Association reiterated that the symbolic closure of schools is intended as a humanitarian gesture reflecting empathy, solidarity, and a collective call for peace.
