Jammu: A top Jaish-e-Mohammad commander was among two militants killed in a gunfight with security forces in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Sunday.
Official sources said that on specific input a joint team of police, army and 2 Para launched an operation. During the exchange of fire two terrorists were killed. One among the slain is said to be a top JeM commander, who as per sources gave slip to security forces many times before.
Taking on micro-blogging platform X, the army’s WhiteKnight Corps wrote, “White Knight Corps tweets, “Following successful contact established earlier, troops of CIF Delta White Knight Corps, in close coordination with J&K Police and CRPF, re-engaged the militants. Displaying tactical precision, seamless synergy and resolute aggression, troops dominated the encounter site, wherein two militants have been successfully neutralised. War-like stores, including 2 AK47 rifles, have also been recovered, reads the post.
