Peddler arrested, vehicle seized
BARAMULLA: Continuing the drive against drug trafficking, police in Baramulla arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police team at a checkpoint established at Dhobiwan Crossing, intercepted a vehicle (Tavera) bearing registration number JK01BD-2547 driven by Adil Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar resident of HarduAboora.
“During the search, approximately 28 grams of a charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, the accused was arrested and the vehicle was seized. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 15/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kunzer, and further investigation is underway,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
J&K Police reiterated commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the public to cooperate and share information regarding drug-related activities.
