Baramulla: Police on Monday launched an anti-drug awareness campaign by releasing a poster highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse and urging people, particularly the youth, to stay away from narcotics.

In a post on X, DIG north Kashmir range, said drugs destroy futures, families and societies by taking away dreams, health and happiness, and called upon citizens to act responsibly and choose a drug-free life.

The poster carries the slogan “Stay Away from Drugs” and visually depicts a person breaking free from chains of addiction, symbolising resistance against substance abuse. It also carries the message, “Be wise. Be strong. Say NO to drugs and YES to life.”
Police officials said the initiative forms part of an ongoing drive to sensitise the public about the dangers of drug addiction and to encourage community involvement in tackling the menace.

They reiterated that the police will continue to take stringent action against drug peddlers while also focusing on preventive measures through awareness and outreach programmes.
