HAJIN: Winter tutorial classes at Government ML Higher Secondary School (HSS), Hajin, which commenced on January 6, have witnessed an encouraging response from students.
A senior faculty member at the institution said the initiative is part of a government programme aimed at providing free academic support to students during the winter break.
Senior Lecturer Shakir Shafi said the classes have been started in institutions, recording high student participation and will continue until regular academic activities resume.
“At present, around 450 students from Classes 9 to 12th are attending the winter tutorial classes at our school,” Shafi told Kashmir Reader.
He added that the initiative is intended to help students strengthen their academic foundation and address learning gaps, particularly in key subjects.
As per official directions, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has instructed all Chief Education Officers to ensure the smooth conduct of winter tutorial classes across the Valley. The programme primarily focuses on supporting students at the secondary and senior secondary levels.
