SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Gohar Ahmad Sofi, a young respected social activist of Shehr-e-Khas and resident of Kawdara, Srinagar, who passed away due to cardiac arrest.
Paying tribute, the Mirwaiz said, “Gohar Sofi was known for his helping and compassionate nature and was always at the forefront in assisting people in need. He had a close association with the Mirwaiz family and maintained a deep spiritual attachment with the pulpit and sanctity of the historic Jama Masjid, Srinagar.”
The Mirwaiz visited the residence of the deceased at Kawdara, where he offered condolences to his sons Umair Ahmad Sofi and Irfan Ahmad Sofi, his brothers Bilal Ahmad Sofi and Tariq Ahmad Sofi, and other bereaved family members. He prayed for patience and strength for the family and for the maghfirah and eternal peace of the departed soul.
