SRINAGAR: A one-day Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) programme under AICRP on Soybean was organised by the Dryland Agriculture Research Station (DARS), Rangreth, SKUAST-Kashmir at Kachwari, Budgam. The programme is a sequel of programmes sponsored by Indian Institute of Soybean Research, Indore under the ambit of Tribal Sub Plan. The programme aimed to promote soybean cultivation and enhance livelihood opportunities among the tribal farming community.
Professor Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Lone, Principal Investigator, AICRP on Soybean, addressed the gathering and highlighted the nutritional and economic importance of soybean cultivation in tribal areas. He emphasized adopting improved varieties and scientific practices to achieve better yields and sustainable income.
The programme witnessed active participation from local tribal farmers, who showed keen interest in learning about soybean production technologies and the benefits of diversification in their traditional cropping systems. At the end of the programme the various farm and seed inputs were distributed among the participants.
