5 SKUAST-K faculty members figure in Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists list

SRINAGAR: Five distinguished scientists from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir have featured in the prestigious global ranking of the Top 2% Scientists for 2025. The database, published recently, was compiled by experts at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier BV.
This seventh edition of the ranking is based on the Scopus snapshot dated August 1, 2025, and includes citation data up to the end of the 2024 calendar year. Scientists were selected based on their citation scores or a percentile rank within the top 2% globally.
This marks the fourth time SKUAST-K has had representation in the list, with the following five scientists earning recognition: Prof. Amjad M. Husaini, Head, Division of Plant Biotechnology; Prof. Rohitashw Kumar, Head, Resource Water Engineering; Dr. Sajad M. Zargar, Associate Professor; Dr. Shabir Hussain Wani and Dr. Shabir Ahmad Ganai, Assistant Professors, SKUAST-K
Their inclusion reflects the university’s growing global impact in agricultural and scientific research. Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K appreciated the scientists for their magnificent scholastic endeavour and in bringing SKUAST-Kashmir to the global forefront.
