Cites floods, connectivity woes, aspirants’ distress, seeks LG’s intervention
SRINAGAR: Prominent social and student rights activist Er. Ehtisham Khan, Co-Founder of The Purpose (Regd. NGO), has strongly urged the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) to postpone the forthcoming 10+2 Lecturer examinations scheduled from September 27 2025.
In a formal communication addressed to the Chairman and Secretary of JKPSC, Khan in a statement issued here highlighted that the recent floods, cloudbursts, and recurring landslides have thrown normal life out of gear, leaving many aspirants stranded without proper access to study material, stable internet connectivity, or even admit cards.
Khan revealed that several aspirants have personally reached out to him, conveying their helplessness in the wake of these natural calamities. “After a decade-long wait, the 10+2 Lecturer posts are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for thousands of our aspirants. It would be unjust to hold these examinations when large sections of students are cut off, stressed, and unprepared due to circumstances beyond their control. I have therefore requested the Commission to defer the exams by at least one month,” Khan said.
He further noted that the issue has also been taken up by the Leader of Opposition, J&K, Sunil Sharma Ji, and other political voices, seeking intervention in the 10+2 Lecturer examinations. “This reflects the seriousness of the matter and the urgent need for remedial action,” Khan remarked.
Calling upon the Commission to safeguard fairness and credibility, Khan added, “The JKPSC has always stood as a beacon of transparency and equal opportunity. At this moment, sensitivity to the difficulties faced by our youth will go a long way in restoring their faith in the system.”
Khan concluded with an appeal for the administration to act swiftly and decisively to ensure that no aspirant is denied a fair chance due to floods, disruptions, or connectivity failures, while also urging the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor to intervene personally in the matter to safeguard the interests of the aspirants.
