SRINAGAR: The Minister for Jal Shakti Javed Rana on Saturday conducted a comprehensive visit to Mehjoor Nagar and Padshai Bagh Water Treatment Plants, which are pivotal to meeting the water supply needs of the Lal Chowk constituency.
He was accompanied by MLA Lal Chowk, Ahsan Pardesi, along with senior officers from the Jal Shakti Department, including Chief Engineer Taj Chaudhary, Superintending Engineer Anbreena Anjum, and Executive Engineers. The visit aimed at evaluating the functioning, capacity, and operational challenges of both water treatment facilities.
During the visit, MLA Ahsan Pardesi emphasized the necessity for administrative realignment of the Padshai Bagh Water Treatment Plant.
“Since Padshai Bagh geographically falls under Srinagar, it is imperative that the plant be brought under the Srinagar Water Works Division for better efficiency and improved service delivery,” stated Pardesi.
Taking serious note of issues raised by local residents, the Minister issued immediate directives to the concerned officials.
“Public convenience is our foremost responsibility. I have given on-spot instructions to the department to ensure uninterrupted water supply and to address genuine concerns without delay,” said Minister Javed Rana.
Later in the day, the Hon’ble Minister also interacted with local party workers and the Hon’ble MLA Lal Chowk, discussing strategies for strengthening grassroots organizational structures and enhancing public outreach.
Expressing his gratitude, MLA Ahsan Pardesi said: “I extend my heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble Minister for Jal Shakti, Jinab Javed Rana Sahib, for sparing his valuable time to visit our constituency and personally review such crucial public infrastructure.”
The visit marks a significant step towards improving water management and public utility services in the Lal Chowk area, reaffirming the government’s commitment to responsive and efficient governance.
