Delay in road construction along Jhelum embankments irks Hajin traders

Must read

HAJIN: Traders federation in Hajin town have expressed strong resentment over the continued delay in the construction of the road along the Jhelum embankments, which collapsed nearly three months ago, severely affecting trade and daily movement in the area.
Despite the availability of construction material at the site, the work was abruptly halted after a few days of activity. Since then, there has been no progress on the ground, leaving the local business community frustrated. The reason behind the sudden stoppage remains unclear, raising questions over the department’s seriousness in addressing the issue.
“This stretch is crucial for our businesses. With the road still in ruins, we’re suffering daily losses. What’s more disappointing is the silence of the concerned authorities,” said a Mushtaq Ahmad former president.
The Traders Federation Hajin has urged the concerned department to resume work without further delay. They warned that if the authorities continue to ignore the issue, they will be left with no option but to launch peaceful protests.
It is pertinent to mention that large portion of the road was caved in four months back near Sheikh Mohalla Hajin
