Dr Darakhshan visits Imambaras, Amarnath Yatra base camp to review facilities

SRINAGAR: Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, visited several Imambaras in Pandrethan and Balhama to review facilities provided for Muharram observances. During her visit, she emphasized the significance of Muharram, saying, “Muharram reminds us of the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and his family for righteousness.” She was accompanied by DDC Member and senior BJP leader, Engineer Aijaz Hussain.
Dr. Andrabi also met with numerous public delegations, listened to their concerns, and addressed issues on the spot by coordinating with relevant departmental officers. Speaking to the media after her tour, she stated, “Muharram has universal and eternal relevance. Humanity universally endorses the sacrifice made by Imam Hussain (AS) and his family for truth and righteousness. Despite efforts by oppressors across ages, the truth endures and inspires future generations. The life and teachings of Imam Hussain (AS) will continue to inspire humanity forever.”
In addition to her Muharram-related visits, Dr. Andrabi inspected the Amarnath Yatra base camp at Pantha Chowk. She interacted with the management and volunteers, taking stock of arrangements made for the pilgrims. She emphasized the importance of the Yatra, stating, “Amarnath Yatra is a symbol of spirituality and communal harmony. Our duty is to welcome pilgrims with warmth and care.” She further added, “The Yatra promotes unity and shared spiritual values, and we are committed to strengthening this bond of togetherness at all costs.”
