Three LeT OGWs Arrested in Hajin; Arms and Ammunition Recovered

Bandipora,:Bandipora Police, acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of Over Ground Workers (OGWs) affiliated with the banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), established a joint naka at Shahgund Nursery in collaboration with 45 Battalion CRPF and the Army.

During checking, three individuals traveling from Khusarpora towards Shahgund attempted to flee upon seeing the naka party but were apprehended tactfully. They were later identified as,Shahzad Ahmad, son of Mohammad Khalil,Danish Ahmad Parray, son of Gh. Mohammad Parray,Ather Iqbal, son of Gh. Mohammad Rafiqee — all residents of Hajin.

During preliminary questioning, the trio confessed to being OGWs of LeT. Upon personal search, the following incriminating materials were recovered from their possession,02 Chinese hand grenades,01 7.62 MM magazine,17 live rounds of 7.62 MM ammunition.

In this regard, an FIR No. 33/2025 under Sections 18, 23, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Section 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Hajin. Further investigation is underway.
