Second body recovered from same canal in two days
GUND (GANDERBAL): The body of a 17-year-old girl who had been reported missing two days ago was recovered from a power canal in the Fraw Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.
Officials said that the body of a girl identified as Shubnam Bano Daughter of Nazir Ahmad who was missing from Saturday this week recovered from a power canal in Fraw Gund of Ganderbal on Sunday.
The recovery of Shubnam’s body comes just two days after the body of another teenager, Junaid Ahmed Khan, also aged 17, was found in the same canal.
The back-to-back recoveries of two young individuals from the same location have sparked concerns and raised questions about the mysterious circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Officials confirmed the recovery and stated that all legal formalities were completed before the body was handed over to the bereaved family for last rites.
While the cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
However, local residents have expressed shock and demanded a thorough probe to uncover the truth behind the tragic deaths of the two teenagers.
