HAJIN: The residents of Bagat Mohalla in Hajin town are facing serious problems due to waterlogging caused by continuous rainfall.
Locals said that the absence of a proper drainage system has left roads and lanes filled with water, making it difficult for them to step out of their homes.
Ishtiyaq Ahmad, a local resident, said that the roads, already damaged by potholes, remained waterlogged for the entire day. “It is very difficult to step out as the roads are full of water,” he said.
He added that waterlogging occurs frequently during rains due to the lack of a drainage system, causing daily hardships.
“We have raised this issue with the authorities many times, but nothing has been done. Our complaints have been ignored for years, and we continue to suffer,” Ishtiyaq said.
With knee-deep water on the roads, people also face difficulties in reaching mosques, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, he added.
The residents have urged the authorities to take immediate action and resolve this long-standing issue.
