JAMMU: At least four people were killed and eight others injured early Tuesday when a tempo vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge in Reasi district, officials said.
A police official said that the tempo vehicle from Jammu to Bagankote fell into a very deep gorge, apparently after the driver lost control over it. Four people died and eight others were injured in the accident, the official said. The injured were immediately shifted to hospital by local volunteers, police and allied field agencies. However, the official said, that the health condition of the injured was not immediately known.
“The vehicle was on its way from Jammu to Mahore. It rolled into deep gorge. In the mishap, three persons died on the spot, and one died on the way to the hospital. Six injured out of eight injured persons have been shifted to Jammu,” said SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh.
