JAMMU: The Rules Committee constituted by Speaker Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather will hold second meeting here on January 7 for framing Rules of Procedure & Conduct of Business for the House.
The Panel of MLAs will hold its meeting under the chairmanship of the Speaker in his office chambers at Legislature Complex, Jammu on Tuesday at 11:30 am.Jammu local businesses
The 9-member Panel comprises seven members from the ruling alliance and two from BJP. No member from Kashmir-based opposition parties including PDP and PC is part of the panel.
The Panel comprises Mubarak Gul, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, Saifullah Mir, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Hasnain Masoodi, Ranbir Singh Pathania and Muzaffar Iqbal Khan.
The Panel held its first meeting on January 1 but its four members were absent due to their different engagements.
On December 24, 2024, the Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather announced this nine-member panel. The Speaker is the ex-officio chairman.
The panel was constituted by the Speaker, in exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 363 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
The panel has been asked to finalise the draft Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, before the commencement of the ensuing Budget session.
