Northern Army Commander visits Valley

Srinagar: Army’s Northern Commander Lt General M V Suchindra Kumar visited Kashmir to review the operational preparedness of the troops in the valley.
“Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar visited Chinar Corps to review the operational preparedness of the formation,” the Northern Command of the Army posted on its X handle.
Lt Gen Kumar complimented the troops for successful anti-militancy operations in the valley.
Lieutenant General Kumar also urged all ranks to uphold the highest standards of professionalism during anti-militancy operations.
He said this during his visit to the Army’s Srinagar based sensitive Chinar Corps where he reviewed the operational preparedness of the formation.
The Army Commander also complimented troops for successful conduct of recent counter terrorist operations.
“LtGenMVSuchindraKumar, ArmyCdrNC visited ChinarCorps to review the operational preparedness of the formation. The #ArmyCdr complimented all Ranks for successful conduct of counter terrorist operations and exhorted all ranks to maintain professionalism in conduct of operations,” the Northern Command said in a post on X.
Sources said security forces officers involved in the recent operations that resulted in the elimination of top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Farooq Ahmed Bhat alias Farooq Nali, and top Lashkar-e-Taiba militant Junaid Ahmed Bhat received commendations for their efforts.
Nali, the longest-surviving militant in the Kashmir Valley, was killed alongside four of his associates in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on December 12.
In the first week of December a top LeT militant Junaid who was allegedly behind the deadliest attack on construction workers in October this year was killed in an encounter in the upper reaches of Dachigam Srinagar.
