JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has amended the Jammu and Kashmir Police Rules 1960 in order to provide a height related relaxation to the Bot Tribe.
“S.O 343 : In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 43 of the Police Act, Samwat, 1983, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir hereby directs that after first proviso to sub- rule (6) of rule 175 of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Rules, 1960, the following shall be added as second proviso, namely:- “Provided further that for the candidates belonging to the ‘Bot Tribe’, the minimum height shall be relaxable by 2 inches.”
