BUDGAM: In a continued effort to curb the operation of illegal medical shops, the Drug Control Department has sealed six more unlicensed establishments in the Beerwah and Narbal tehsils of Budgam district. This crackdown was led by Drugs Control Officer Peerzada Tasaduq Hussain.
The action targeted several locations where medical shops were found operating without proper licenses. The unlicensed shops closed during this operation include Sajad Ahmad Lone and Rukhsar Ahmad Parray’s shop at Badran, Mudasir M Hajam’s shop at Aripathan, Kaisar Ahmad Kumar and Parvaiz Ahmad Kumar’s shop at SK Pora, and Javaid Hussain’s shop at Chayara
Officer Peerzada Tasaduq Hussain informed Kashmir Reader that the move follows a series of inspections aimed at ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and protecting public health. The Drug Control Department has intensified its vigilance and enforcement actions to eliminate the risks posed by unlicensed medical shops in the region.
Officer Hussain emphasized the department’s commitment to maintaining stringent controls over the sale of medical products and ensuring that only licensed shops are allowed to operate. He also warned that further inspections and strict actions would continue against those found violating the regulations.
The local community has been urged to report any suspicious or unlicensed medical shops to the authorities to aid in the ongoing effort to ensure safe and legal medical practices in the district.
