Vaccination drive held for Hajj pilgrims at SDH Pampore

238 pilgrims vaccinated to safeguard them ahead of annual Hajj journey

PAMPORE: A comprehensive vaccination program targeting Hajj pilgrims from the Pampore, Awantipora, and Kakapora areas was conducted at the Sub District Hospital Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
The initiative aimed to safeguard pilgrims against potential contagious diseases during the annual pilgrimage to Hajj. Under the guidance of the district administration Pulwama and Chief Medical Officer Pulwama, the special vaccination drive was organized by the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pampore.
Dr. Hakeem Naseer, Incharge BMO Pampore, along with a team of doctors and vaccination specialists, oversaw the vaccination program and interacted with the Hajj pilgrims. Dr. Naseer extended his congratulations to the pilgrims on their selection for the holy Hajj and encouraged them to pray for the well-being and prosperity of the community.
According to health officials, a total of 238 Hajj pilgrims underwent vaccination after undergoing thorough medical check-ups. The pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the Sub District Hospital Pampore and commended the efforts of the administration.
Dr. Hakeem Naseer informed Kashmir Reader that their target was to vaccinate 238 Hajj pilgrims. He outlined the vaccination process, which involved registration followed by a general health assessment before administering the vaccine.
The vaccination drive was part of a broader schedule announced by the district administration Pulwama. Pilgrims from various areas of Pulwama district were allocated specific vaccination centers, ensuring convenient access for all. Pilgrims from Pulwama and Litter were vaccinated at the CMO office Pulwama, while those from Tral and Aripal received vaccinations at SDH Tral. Similarly, pilgrims from Tehsil Pampore, Kakapora, and Awantipora were vaccinated at the BMO office Sub District Hospital Pampore.
The vaccination program for pilgrims from Rajpora is scheduled to take place at SDH Rajpora on April 27, ensuring comprehensive coverage for all Hajj pilgrims from the district.
