Forest Dept organizes plantation drive at polling booths in Pampore

Receives praise for environmental initiative

PAMPORE: The Forest Model Range Pampore, part of the Awantipora Forest Division, organized a noteworthy plantation drive at each election polling booth in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
This significant initiative, aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and sustainability, received enthusiastic participation from esteemed dignitaries and officials. Led by Range Officer Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, the event unfolded with meticulous planning and execution, earning praise from forest department officials.
Shah highlighted the vital role of forests in maintaining ecological balance and emphasized the importance of ongoing departmental initiatives such as “Her Gawoon Heryali,” “Beti ke Naam Padh Lagaw,” “J&K Green Mission,” and “One Beat Guard One Village” in nurturing a greener future.
The plantation drive not only demonstrated a collective commitment to environmental stewardship but also facilitated inter-departmental collaboration. Notable attendees included Tehsildar Pampore Malik Asif Ahmad, SDPO Pampore Krishan Rattan, Executive Officer of Municipal Committee Pampore, and the Principal of Govt Girls Higher Secondary Pampore, alongside numerous officers from various departments.
Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah expressed heartfelt gratitude to all officers and officials whose dedicated efforts contributed to the success of this green initiative. He particularly acknowledged the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for their unwavering dedication and diligence in executing the plantation drive seamlessly.
