Parvinder Singh invites LG Sinha for news channel launch

SRINAGAR: Parvinder Singh, Editor-in-Chief of the upcoming “Black & White Digital News Channel” met with the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir UT, Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhawan. During the meeting, Singh apprised the Lieutenant Governor of the aims and objectives of launching a digital news channel.
The Lieutenant Governor commended Parvinder Singh for his initiative in venturing into the challenging field of journalism after serving in financial institutions for a significant period. Singh extended an invitation to the Lieutenant Governor, seeking his blessings for the channel’s launch, which the Lieutenant Governor graciously accepted, subject to clearance from the Election Commission of India due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, Singh said in a statement issued here.
Additionally, issues concerning the involvement of youth in drug trafficking and the loss of precious lives due to drug consumption were discussed during the meeting.
“The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the urgent need for a significant movement to raise awareness among youth, involving civil society,” he said.
Parvinder Singh pledged to make every effort, in collaboration with community leaders, students, civil society, and youth, to eradicate the menace of drug use. He assured coordination and collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which is already making administrative efforts to curb the sale and consumption of drugs.
