Traffic Police crack down on wrong parking in Pampore, Pulwama

Over 100 vehicles issued challans in special drive led by SSP Traffic Rural & DSP Traffic Pulwama

PULWAMA: In a bid to crack down on wrong parking practices, the Traffic Police initiated a special drive in the Saffron Town area of Pampore, located in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, on Saturday. Led by SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Ravinder Pal Singh and DSP Traffic Pulwama Shopian Dr. Mudasser Tramboo, along with DTI Pulwama, the operation targeted vehicles unlawfully parked in the vicinity.
During the operation, over 100 vehicles, including motorcycles, were issued challans for violating parking regulations. SSP Traffic Rural RP Singh emphasized the adverse effects of wrong parking on traffic congestion and the inconvenience faced by commuters in Saffron Town Pampore.
Wrong parking not only disrupts traffic flow but also poses safety hazards for pedestrians and other road users. The Traffic Police’s initiative aimed to encourage responsible parking behavior and ensure smooth traffic operations in the area, officials informed Kashmir Reader.
SSP RP Singh appealed to drivers, commuters, and the general public to cooperate with authorities and adhere to parking regulations to facilitate hassle-free movement and enhance road safety measures in Saffron Town Pampore.
The crackdown serves as a reminder to all motorists to park their vehicles only in designated areas and avoid illegal parking, which can lead to traffic congestion and inconvenience for everyone on the road. By following parking rules, individuals can contribute to creating safer and more orderly traffic conditions in their communities.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Ravinder Pal Singh highlighted that today’s drive targeted wrong parking, responding to numerous complaints about indiscriminate vehicle parking leading to congestion and traffic jams, especially during peak hours. To ensure smooth traffic flow, the drive was conducted, with action taken against violations such as riding without helmets and issuing challans for non-compliance, along with vehicle seizures.
SSP Singh urged all residents and visitors to park their vehicles responsibly in designated spaces and requested shoppers to utilize side parking areas to prevent road obstruction. He emphasized the importance of parking in designated spots and urged drivers and commuters to adhere to parking regulations to avoid contributing to traffic congestion and ensure a safer environment for all road users.
