Social activist Umer Jaan urges participation in Army-led programs for ‘societal progress’

PULWAMA: The Indian Army, in collaboration with the Musuada Foundation, organized a Career Counseling and Reorientation Workshop for the Youth of Pulwama District at Government Degree College, Pulwama on Monday. Running from February 26 to March 13, 2024, the workshop aims to empower youth by providing education, skill development, insights into various employment opportunities, and addressing the issue of drug menace. It seeks to engage the youth of South Kashmir in fostering a sense of nationalism and encouraging active participation in nation-building endeavors.
Umar Jaan, a prominent social activist and former BDC Chairman, delivered a motivational address to the gathering, urging the youth to actively shape their futures with determination. Recognizing the resilience, innovative thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit of Kashmiri youth, he expressed confidence in their ability to overcome challenges and contribute significantly to the nation’s progress. He extended gratitude to the Indian Army for providing a platform for the youth of Kashmir to engage in constructive endeavors.
This workshop signifies a crucial step towards empowering the youth of Pulwama and equipping them with the necessary tools to thrive in various spheres of life. Participants have highlighted the benefits of such initiatives, particularly in combating the alarming rise in drug abuse and addiction. The 15-day program aims to raise awareness about these issues while focusing on skill development and career counseling.
Prominent social activist Umer Jaan emphasized that the Indian Army’s primary motive is to ensure the protection of youth, steering them away from drugs and violence. He stressed the importance of youth embracing their role in shaping a brighter and prosperous future, free from negative influences. He urged all youth to participate in such programs, ensuring their best interests and a prosperous future ahead.
