PAMPORE: In a concerted effort to promote health awareness and facilitate access to healthcare services, a significant medical camp unfolded under the banner of the Ayushman Health Mela at the Sub District Hospital in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday. This impactful initiative, an integral part of the Ayushman Mela, aimed to bolster healthcare outreach and education within the community.
During the day-long health mela hundreds of people from different areas of Pampore and others of the district visited the camp, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The Health Mela, a collaborative endeavour between the Sub District Hospital Pampore and the Government Medical College Srinagar, witnessed its inauguration by Dr Asima Nazir, the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pampore. Accompanied by Dr Bilal Ahmad, the Registrar Medical Officer, and other dedicated healthcare professionals, Dr Nazir ceremoniously marked the commencement of this vital event.
Health officials, speaking to Kashmir Reader, emphasized the magnitude of the Ayushman Health Mela held at Sub District Hospital Pampore. The gathering saw a substantial turnout, with a diverse array of individuals converging to avail themselves of the comprehensive medical services offered. Notably, attendees expressed their satisfaction with the availability of specialized medical practitioners, ensuring personalized care for each participant.
The medical expertise on hand encompassed a spectrum of specialities, ranging from Cardiology and Orthopedics to Dermatology, Psychiatry, Urology, Gastroenterology, and Ophthalmology. This expansive roster of specialists underscored mela’s commitment to addressing a wide spectrum of health concerns and catering to the diverse needs of the populace.
Through initiatives such as the Ayushman Health Mela, communities across Kashmir are poised to benefit from enhanced healthcare accessibility and awareness.
