Candlelight marches held in Pampore, Pulwama to condemn killing of two Punjab residents

PAMPORE: Candlelight marches and protests were organized in Pampore and Pulwama to condemn the killing of two Punjab residents in a terror attack in Srinagar on Wednesday evening.
Local residents, civil society members, and social activists came together to express solidarity with the victims’ families and denounce the heinous terror attack that took place at Shalla Kadal Shaheed Gunj in Srinagar.
The march in Pampore, which began at Drangbal and culminated at Kadlabal Chowk, saw the participation of numerous civil society members, traders, transport associations, and youth. Participants carried placards and candles, expressing sympathy for the victims’ families and demanding justice for the innocent lives lost.
Similarly, in Pulwama, civil society members and social activists organized a candlelight march to protest against the brutal terror attack. The residents of Pulwama united in condemnation of this cowardly act of terrorism, standing together against such violence.
The terror attack on Wednesday evening targeted two carpenters, both residents of Amritsar, Punjab, at Shalla Kadal in Srinagar. The victims were identified as Amritpal Singh and Rohit Kumar.
The Kashmir Zone Police, in a statement on ‘X,’ reported, “Terrorists fired upon a non-local identified as Amritpal Singh, a resident of Amritsar, at Shaheed Gunj in Srinagar, who succumbed to his injuries. Another individual was grievously injured and evacuated for medical attention.” Unfortunately, Rohit succumbed to his injuries early Thursday morning.
