Executive Officer MC Hajin unfurls tricolor on 75th Republic Day

Journalists Gowhar Maqbool, Adil Abdullah awarded for ‘commendable performance’

Bandipora: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, traditional fervor, and gaiety in Hajin, similar to other parts of the Union Territory (UT), on Friday.
The main function took place at the Municipal Committee Hajin, where Executive Officer Fayaz Ahmad served as the chief guest. He unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the March past, presented by contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, NCC cadets, and school children.
Following the formalities, students from various schools and Youth Services and Sports presented a scintillating cultural bonanza that garnered applause from the audience. Fayaz Ahmad took the opportunity to congratulate the people on the eve of the 75th Republic Day.
In his address, the Executive Officer MC Hajin provided the historical background of Republic Day, emphasizing its significance as the day when India became a Republic. He said the Constitution of India, the fundamental framework of governance drafted by the great leader B R Ambedkar, was implemented on this day.
Later, Fayaz Ahmad distributed prizes to the contingents and students who excelled in the parade and cultural program.
On this occasion, awards were also presented to Gowhar Maqbool of Kashmir Reader and Adil Abdullah of Kashmir Scroll. Both were recognized with certificates and trophies for their commendable performance in the field of journalism and their efforts in highlighting public issues.
