Authorities initiate groundbreaking digitization of land records reading in Pampore village

Nagander first village in J&K to showcase online digitization of Jamabandi records: Tehsildar

Pampore: In a proactive move, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Awantipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, Tehsildar Pampore Zuber Ahmad Bhat and a revenue team, undertook a significant visit to Nagander Khrew village of Pampore Tehsil. The purpose of the visit was to conduct the reading of online digitized Jamabandis, enhancing the efficiency of land record management in the region. This initiative marks a crucial step towards modernizing and streamlining land-related documentation processes.
Nagander Khrew is the first village in Jammu and Kashmir where the administration visited any village with online digitization of Jamabandi land records has been showcased to the people, and individuals have checked their records, officials told Kashmir Reader.
People of the Nagander village extended congratulations to Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom, Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, Tehsildar Pampore, Zuber Ahmad Bhat, and the entire revenue team. They expressed gratitude for bringing digitized land records to our remote area, saying, “Despite the considerable distance we would have had to travel to check our records, officials visited our village, providing the digitized land records for individuals to review their records locally.”
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, Abdul Ahad Lone, a Numberdar of Nagander, said, “In today’s digitization land programme, Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl and Tehsildar Pampore Zuber Ahmad Bhat visited our Village. They brought our digitized land record, and we have reviewed our records.”
“We express gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Basharat Qayoom, Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora, Tehsildar Pampore, and the entire team of Tehsil Office Pampore for bringing our records here. They encouraged us to check our records and assured us that if there were any mistakes in our digitization, they would rectify them promptly,” Lone added.
Tehsildar Pampore, Zuber Ahmad Bhat said, “We have already completed the third stage of online digitization, printing of land records for the 28 villages in Pampore Tehsil. Following the digitization, we printed out the Jamabandis record, and today, he along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora visited Halqa Nagander Khrew we presented and read the digitized records before them. People have reviewed this record, and we have noted the discrepancies pointed out by them. We will ensure thorough corrections are made accordingly.”
“This village Nagander is the first to present digitized records before the people. They have joyfully examined their records, and I am pleased that they came here to check their land records,” Bhat said, adding, “We encountered many individuals whose ancestral transitions (Intiqal) had not been processed yet. We have duly documented their cases, and this Jamabandi camp has also served as a mutation camp. We have successfully recorded several inheritance transfers during this event.”
