Awantipora: IUST’s Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology organized two-days Induction-cum-Orientation Program for nursing students with the aim to familiarize them nursing education at IUST, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the profession. The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and the administration of the nursing oath to the trainee nurses.
Prof. Ayaz Hassan Moon, Dean Academic Affairs, IUST, highlighted the historical roots of nursing, tracing back to Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and mentioning the 1st Islamic nurse, Hazrat Rufaida (RA). Emphasizing the irreplaceable nature of human nurses despite technological advances, he stressed the emotional aspect of nursing and the importance of leveraging technology for efficient outcomes.
Addressing the gathering, Prof.AyubQadri, Dean Health Sciences IUST, commended the crucial role of nurses in preventive, curative, and restorative healthcare. Dr. Waseem Bari, Controller of Examination, underscored the significance of orientation for students and assured continuous support whenever needed.The program was coordinated by Ms. Neelofar Jan, Principal of Alamdar Nursing College, who provided detailed insights into the program while highlighting the critical role of the nursing profession in society.
