Saurabh leads dev camp at Awantipora, witnesses enthusiastic public participation

Pampore: In a significant event, the Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra cum Public Darbar took place at Mini Secretariat Awantipora in Pulwama district, led by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Science and Technology Department, Saurabh Bhagat (IAS). The event witnessed substantial public participation and engagement with various government departments.
The Commissioner/Secretary, Saurabh Bhagat, received a warm welcome from Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, Additional District Development Commissioner Pulwama, SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl, and other district officers.
The program kicked off with a thorough inspection of stalls established by various departments, allowing the Commissioner to gain insights into the diverse schemes implemented for community welfare. The event included sports activities, cultural performances, and a message from the Prime Minister, emphasizing the significance of the Sankalp Yatra.
A solemn moment occurred with the administration of the SANKALP pledge by Commissioner Saurabh Bhagat, followed by beneficiaries sharing their transformative stories during the “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani” segment. This highlighted the positive impact of government interventions on their lives.
Delegations and civil society members raised various issues, with representatives urging attention to concerns such as stone quarrying, roads, and other significant matters. The Commissioner assured that issues related to the exact implementation of government schemes would be addressed.
Speaking to the media, Commissioner Saurabh Bhagat emphasized the need to raise awareness about government schemes, highlighting their positive impact since 2019. He commended Pulwama district for its achievements in saffron production, milk production, apple cultivation, and other sectors.
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the objectives of the schemes being substantially fulfilled, emphasizing the potential for urbanization and industrialization in the district. He mentioned the development of new industrial areas and infrastructure projects contributing to the district’s growth.
Regarding the camp’s purpose, Commissioner Saurabh Bhagat underscored the importance of understanding challenges and addressing issues at the secretariat level. He emphasized the continuous effort to engage directly with the public and gather feedback to improve government initiatives.
The Commissioner stressed that such camps play a crucial role in providing a feedback mechanism and understanding the demands and benefits of government norms. He highlighted ongoing efforts to educate PRI members about government schemes to ensure maximum citizen participation and benefit.
