SKUAST-K holds awareness program on farm mechanisation at KVK Budgam

Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir held a one-day awareness program on ‘Farm Mechanization for Better Production, Productivity and Profitability’ at Krishi Vikas Kendra, Budgam.
The program. organised under theInnovative Extension Approaches for Promoting Agriculture in Jammu and Kashmir Project of Holistic Agriculture Development Program, witnessed participation of farmers from different areas of the district Budgam.
Director Extension, SKUAST-K, Prof DM Makhdoomi, on the occasion, encouraged the youth to avail the opportunities of different schemes under HADP, emphasizing its potential to render farming lucrative. He underscored the role of various technologies in bridging the gap between technology and farmers and stressed the importance of farm mechanization in advancing agricultural practices.
Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam, Dr M Iqbal Baba provided a comprehensive overview of the developmental schemes available with the Department of Horticulture. Dr Ishrat Naveed Technical officer Department of Agriculture Budgam, highlighted comprehensive insights into the establishment and functioning of Custom Hiring Centre under HADP Project.
Head, KVK, Budgam, Dr Bilal Ahmad Lone in his address stated that an awareness program on farm mechanization serves as a significant milestone in the collective efforts towards advancing agricultural practices in UT of J&K.
